Section

Introduction and agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of ComplianceKit, a software service operated by the ComplianceKit team.

By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These Terms are meant to be clear and practical for launch review, but they are not legal advice and they do not create an attorney-client relationship.

Section

Service description

ComplianceKit provides tools for website review, drafting, and publishing workflows, including:

  • Public website scan and free preview.
  • Full report unlock after payment.
  • Generated document drafts, editing, and version history.
  • Hosted legal center publishing for selected documents.
  • Workspace, account, and billing features.

We may add, modify, or remove features as the product evolves.

Section

Account registration and responsibility

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date when you create an account or use the service.

  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens through your account or workspace.
  • You should notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.

Section

User content and published content

You may submit website URLs, audit inputs, generated documents, edited documents, and content for your hosted legal center. You keep ownership of your content, but you give ComplianceKit the license needed to process, store, display, and transmit it to provide the service.

  • You are responsible for the content you submit or publish.
  • You must have the right to submit the URLs and content you provide.
  • You may not submit illegal, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Public legal pages may be visible to anyone with the URL, so publish carefully.

Private workspace content is not public by default, and only the documents you choose to publish are shown on the hosted legal center.

Section

Website scanning and crawler terms

The crawler is designed for public websites and limited, safety-conscious checks.

  • Only scan websites you own, control, operate, or have permission to audit.
  • Do not use the crawler to bypass authentication, access controls, or private areas.
  • Scans can fail, be incomplete, or miss pages and signals.
  • We may limit or reject scans for safety, abuse, rate limits, suspicious targets, or private-network requests.
  • We may block localhost, private IPs, and internal network targets.

ComplianceKit does not promise that every issue, page, or disclosure will be found in a scan.

Section

Payment and unlocks

The current pricing model includes a free preview, a one-time full report unlock for $20, and a Workspace subscription for$20/month, unless the pricing is changed on the site or in product copy.

  • Stripe processes payment details.
  • ComplianceKit stores payment references, status, and entitlement state, not full card numbers.
  • A successful payment and webhook confirmation are required before the report unlocks.
  • Taxes may apply where required.
  • If checkout is canceled, the report remains locked.
  • Subscriptions are only active while Stripe reports the Workspace subscription as active.

Future pricing or plan options may change as the product evolves.

Section

Refunds

Because digital reports and document workflows are delivered immediately after unlock, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

If you have a duplicate charge, an accidental payment, or another billing issue, contact us and we will review the situation in good faith.

Section

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

  • Abuse the crawler or overload the service.
  • Scan targets without permission.
  • Interfere with security, integrity, or availability.
  • Reverse engineer the service where prohibited.
  • Upload malicious content.
  • Use the service to violate law or rights of others.
  • Misrepresent generated documents as attorney-reviewed.
  • Resell outputs in a misleading way.
  • Publish unlawful or infringing content.

Section

Intellectual property

ComplianceKit owns the app, interface, software, templates, systems, and related trademarks, except for third-party components and your own content.

  • You own the content you submit and the content you edit for your own use, subject to these Terms.
  • You may use generated drafts for your own business, subject to review and the other terms here.
  • You may not copy or resell the platform itself or claim ownership of the product software.

Section

Third-party services

The service depends on third-party infrastructure and service providers, which may have their own terms and policies.

  • Supabase for authentication, database, and storage infrastructure.
  • Stripe for payment processing.
  • PostHog if analytics is configured.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers used to run the app.

Section

Availability and changes

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, outages, feature changes, and service updates may happen.

We may modify pricing, plans, or feature availability, and we will try to keep the product language consistent with the live service.

Section

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is a terms violation, abuse, nonpayment, security concern, or legal risk.

Termination may affect access to workspace data and published pages, subject to legal and operational limits.

Section

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law.

  • We do not make warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement beyond what law requires.
  • We do not guarantee legal accuracy or compliance outcomes.
  • Crawler results may be incomplete or outdated.
  • Generated documents require human review before use or publication.

Section

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the ComplianceKit team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims related to the service will be limited to the amount you paid to ComplianceKit for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or another amount required by law.

Section

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the ComplianceKit team from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your submitted content, unauthorized scanning, unlawful publishing, or violation of these Terms.

Section

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to the ComplianceKit operator, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless local consumer law requires otherwise.

Any required venue, jurisdiction, or dispute process will be listed in the launch version or another legally required forum.
